Climate Change & Business: 21 - 22 October, 2008 Kiev, Ukraine

Get an insight into the most promising carbon markets in Eastern Europe!
For the fourth consecutive year Point Carbon is hosting Climate Change and Business 2008 in Kiev, Ukraine. This conference gathers annually over 300 participants from 25 countries.
Ukraine has adopted a long-awaited new version of the JI procedures, allowing for Track 1 JI in Ukraine. Kiev joints a camp of a few European countries that already launched national approval procedures for the JI projects. Moreover, Ukraine becomes the first JI country to introduce late credits, a fact that will undoubtedly increase the potential JI project portfolio, and reverse the trend of closing window of opportunity for JI. It is expected the Track 1 and late credit procedures in Ukraine to boost the confidence in the JI market in the country as well as the volumes of issued ERUs and, at a later stage, project-backed AAUs.
Participants include: Project developers and owners, representatives of the Ukrainian and foreign governments, carbon unit buyers, technology providers, scientific institutions, as well as international organisations. The event will provide an overview of the developments and trends in the Eastern Europe carbon markets.
