New offset projects lure farmers into U.S. carbon market

SAN FRANCISCO, July 18 (Reuters Point Carbon) – U.S. farmers can now earn money by selling as many as 6 million carbon credits to voluntary buyers and California emitters by reducing the amount of nitrogen they use to fertilize their crops, a voluntary offset program announced Wednesday.
